Just a little more about me.

Music isn't just something I want to do, or love to do. I have to do it. My need to do it is hard-wired. I have a sneaking suspicion my soul signed up for this shit before I was born. 

Years ago I'd send my own albums full of electro-industrial black metal fused with jazz fusion-tinged new age music (this is not a joke) to engineers recommended by peers. Usually I’d feel underwhelmed by the results, but felt pressured to just have faith in their perspective. Many of my clients can relate to this with their past experiences.

For some of these engineers, it’s not that they weren’t experienced or skilled. They just weren’t well-versed in the niches my clients and I float around in. They either worked on more conventional styles of music, or they were behind the times in terms of modern production styles.

Even engineers who were just about on my level creatively were still afraid to be aggressive with their processing, resulting in spineless masters and amateur-sounding mixes. Oh no, God forbid the needle on the compressor move more than 3 decibels!

Some of these engineers were aspiring, and so they didn't quite know what they were doing just yet. They were infected by mixing tips on YouTube, and a few of them were just unable to commit to the job to the point where'd they'd just ghost their clients!

No one wants to pay for the senseless task of going back and forth tweaking things to death with an engineer who doesn't understand your calling, or can't cater to it. And no one wants to get kicked around by someone with big promises that turn into half-finished mixes.

This all motivated me to grab the torch and dedicate all my working hours to turning my clients’ recordings and ideas into final products they’re actually happy with!
